Bella Wilde - Note/Without You (OUT NOW) click HERE.
Follow her on twitter HERE.
It began through a mutual friend, Kwes met a heartbroken but high spirited diamond in the rough. Her name is Bella. Both came together on blind faith with a desire to create something beyond its space. On the plinth of killing off her dreams of a career in music, Bella escaped London and travelled to Moscow to let go of the past. She stumbled upon a new found adoration for naturalism in the Arts. Soon after, her matters of the heart were written and recorded with Kwes.
Over much deliberation and some time, a batch of heavy yet ethereal songs of love, despair and optimism began to manifest, and of these songs Note/Without You were picked first to share with you. Get lost in these simple, understated beauties and join Bella Wilde on her ascent to the summit of pop.

Elan Tamara - Shadows EP (OUT 28TH OCTOBER 2010).
Tracklisting:
1. TUBES
2. MY EYES
3. FROG SONG
4. FIND A WAY
Shortly after having the honour of playing Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards earlier this year and enjoying critical acclaim in the blogosphere from her debut EP Gold Fishes (which you can still buy HERE), Elan Tamara retreated to a studio in the middle of Kent to record her 2nd offering, the 'Shadows EP'.
Elan's unique postmodern pop takes another turn, and with the addition of her band The Bakery, 'Shadows' reveals itself to be a lot more propulsive and direct, whilst no less melodic, inviting repeated listens. It kicks off with the hypnotic piano and heavy reversed drums driven opener 'Tubes', which loosely sits somewhere between Steve Reich, Bat For Lashes, Indonesian gamelan music & 60s Baroque Pop, completely refreshed and updated. The tropical 'My Eyes' & the refreshing 'Frog Song' display Elan's knack for writing uplifting songs with memorable hooks, without compromise. The closer of the majestic 'Find A Way' sees Elan spar with the atmosphere created by herself, the band and producer Kwes, with a hugely satisfying buildup and resolve.
Elan Tamara's first release on Kwes' label BOKKLE. marks an artist who is hitting her stride and will continue to push boundaries however hard and softly she feels.

Mixthing #8 - Kwes Exclusive 66 Mix for KSPACE.TV and news
Hi readers, again sorry I haven't been to frequent on the blogging recently. Just got back from playing a gig in Elan Tamara's band. Things are really picking up for her :). If you haven't already, definitely check her out and get hold of a copy of her handmade EP. Links on her page HERE.
I also wanted to mention here I'm going to be vacating this Tea Hut to move to a new location. I still love love tea and hold it very close to my heart, but too much of the stuff has started to give me palpitations, and with hypertension being a common trait in my family, I think it's now time to emigrate. I'll still enjoy a cuppa every now and then. FOR SURE. This also explains why the next two mixes have not been called teamixthings. More info will unfold towards the end of the year, and there are some clues as to where I'm locating to in the new mix, which I'm now going to talk of in the next paragraph.
The first mix I'm going to bestow upon your good selves is an exclusive 66 minute mix I've done for the K-Swiss blog called KSPACE.TV. check them out. Lovely lovely blog. It's the longest mix I've done and I've thoroughly enjoyed working on it. It's playful like always :).
This is Mixthing #8 because I had finished the 21MC mix (COMING SOON) before this one. Just working some things out with them, then it will be available from here and from them :)
Big Love. Xx

Teamixthing #6 - Liquorice Tea
Liquorice tea :). This one startled me like Lapsang Souchong. I was never a fan of the Bassetts sweets, or liquorice confectionery in general. But this tea is a massive massive exception. The aftertaste is just killer. The initial taste of the tea is extremely refreshing, and I recommend it whenever you need a pick up. My manager Toby put me onto this one, so I thank him hugely for that. Anyway, here is the liquorice teamixthing no.6 below. Sorry for the long wait. Enjoy :)
Big love.

Too long
I'm such a wasteblog. Over 3 months!! Well I profusely apologise peoples. I've been really busy throughout this year. I'm not going to lie at all, there were quite a few little moments there where I could've written something, but work really does take it out of you sometimes, and when you get those minutes for respite, you just don't want to do anything at all, apart from laying back and drinking your favourite drink of choice.
Well in a nutshell here's what happened in last 5 months:
1. A momentary stint in Jack Penate's band. Got to travel around UK and Paris. Did the Taratata (French version of Jools) was very surreal. All in all, sweet experience. Check his new album. It's a lovely body of work.
2. Co-Producing Valentina's debut EP with Blue May.
Did some of it over here at the Nellee Hooper's. Amazing place:
She's an amazing singer/songwriter and Blue is an amazing producer, and his dog Dave, I started to build a nice relationship with :).
But one session, I really felt like I was living my dream, I was watching before my eyes, a string quartet recording some sections I had written for one of Val's songs. Had some food later, started to itch and sweat and lose my breath, next minute, lips and bottom half of face started to swell. Throat started to close up a few hours later... ANAPHYLAXIS. Was horrible :(.
3. Anaphylaxis which led to me going to A&R, !!!!!A&E I mean!!!! and being intravenously fed with piriton. One of the scariest things I had ever been through.
Here are some visual representations:
Me sat in front of the beautiful API desk I think it was a 1604. Studio was one of the best places I've been to also. On just general feel and of course the drum kit collection of crazy Antonio's, it's the best place. APIs are the truth:
Then few hours after:
Here in hospital bed:
That whole day was crazy, and scary but weirdly enjoyable.
4. Quite a few reworks here and there.
5. Producing/co-writing stuff for brilliant talent/future icon Cornelia.
6. Working on my own material. It's getting there :)
7. Went Glastonbury to do a "DJ" set with Miss Levi :)
8. Producing Dog Bite stuff. Another sick individual, and beautifully laid back.
9. Getting Elan Tamara's release sorted for 7th September. I've been on about her for a while. Mad talented. Check the previews of EP out on myspace.com/elantamara, and pick up a copy :).
Got quite a lot more work coming up, and some lovely news, but won't disclose just yet. Went on a lovely bike ride beside the River Lea not too long ago, may upload some pics of that in another entry.
Teamixthing no.6 following on now :). I hope you enjoyed this entry. Going to try very hard not to leave this place cold.
Big Love.

Teamixthing #5 - Vibrant Rooibos
Hello everyone :). Sorry it has taken really long, but finally I'm able to give you my new teamixthing thing "Vibrant Rooibos" courtesy of amazing and lovely podcast givers Vibes & Stuff. Check them out.
I'm writing this at 6am, so please forgive if my sentence structure is not up to speed. Rooibos is a lovely type of herbal tea I really should have more of. It has quite a nutty & naturally sweet taste and is of South African origin. It's gorgeous with or without milk.
Within this mix I get a bit trigger happy with effects & levels at times, so I'm sorry if your ears start hurting at any point in the mixthing. It's a nutty one. Further love from the lovely people at Vibes & Stuff CLICKHere to have a read. Tookind.
Much love xxx
